Last night, 26 January, at the Greensboro Project Space I screened “A Page of Madness” and “Easy Street”. Gil Fray was at the piano for both screenings. Many thanks to Adam Carlin for providing the piano and also the wonderful theater popcorn machine for the event. Gil did his usual wonderful job of accompaniment. For “A Page of Madness”, he actually removed the top of the piano and played the strings, as well as the keyboard, to provide an accompaniment that fit very well into the very avant-garde film. For “Easy Street” Gil played a traditional score. The event was well attended and the audience had a great time. I hope to screen another silent film at the Greensboro Project Space in the very near future.
